My name is Oluwakemi Omowaire, my educational background is in psychology, clinical psychology. My journey into the arts started with a combination of personal interest and a push by a dear friend. I enjoy the pure joy of the creative process.
I’m an emotive storyteller. I believe my love for psychology also fuels my curiosity and interest in exploring human’s inner inspirations, struggles, depths.

‘The Woman’ is the soul of my artistic inspiration. I’d like to think the easy explanation for this is because ‘I Am Her.’ The emotions that I capture in my paintings, I have lived through many of
these moments myself; I have experienced these emotions, I have been afraid, I have been strong, I have been somewhere in-between.

I create works that are evocative, emotional, and full of existential complexities. Of Womanhood, of personal transformation, of self-liberation, of bravery, of resilience. The stories that I tell - are what I am, what I have been - or trying to be. Within every woman lies a diamond - beautiful, strong, unique, shining through every fire. My hope is to continue to create pieces that people connect to. Works that inspire strength.

I have chosen this medium as my own way of telling relatable stories about our humanity. How our very being - evolves. And how the changes we make within us have the power to lead us through infinite possibilities.

My paintings are primarily portraits and figurative subjects. Capturing beauty and persona, fears and also victories, evolution, and peace. I experiment with the heavy impasto technique. I like textures a lot. The references for my work are real-life subjects, often combined with characteristics or features that I make up.
I work mainly with oil colors on canvas.

I have painted on commission for many private collectors, and I have participated in successful group exhibitions.

I am a Nigerian-American self-taught Artist based in Atlanta, Georgia. When I’m not painting, I’m still storytelling – writing fiction.
